Tamil nadu in South India is the richest place for Jain Heritage sites; Be it monuments, caves, sculptures, paintings, stone beds for Ascetics, Palm leaf manuscripts ,idols, etc every district has all or many of these treasures.The pity is that leave alone others, our northern jain friends do not know any of these holy places and precious holy objects -some dated from 5th BCE and beyond.Jainology Departments of various universities particularly Madras university should involve if not fully at least to certain extent to bringout these jain heritage treasures, the glory of Jainism in Tamil nadu to the outside world and particularly to our Northern friends
